Inductive

Inductive distance sensors emit an absolute voltage or current signal which varies proportionally to the distance from a metallic target. Workpieces of variable shape and size made out of ferritic or non-ferritic material attenuate the sensor differently. Consequently positions, distances and material variations can be detected in an easy way. In automation and tool manufacturing inductive distance sensors typically apply where raising and lowering gears and positions have to be monitored under very tight spatial conditions. Contactless and absolute measurements and compact design are key features for the use of these distance sensors. The fully enclosed design achieves protection degree IP67 and makes the sensors resistant to shock and vibration.
